Top 10 Worst Hit Songs of 2016

Greeting everyone, it is I, the Animated Vulture, and this is just a quick update on what I’m going to be doing in the future. That being is that I don’t plan on doing anymore year end rankings for a while. The reason I’m saying this is because they are way too stressful for me, and because my opinions keep changing rapidly, I end up frequently doing several edits to my rankings when I could be doing something much better with my time. I know people will say that these lists shouldn’t have to reflect my exact opinions all the time, and you’d be right, but I can’t shut off the voice in the back of my head that’s frequently saying, “You need to update this.” So yeah, there’s a chance I’ll go back to doing year end rankings in the future, who knows, but as of right now, I’m done doing them. I’m now going to be doing the usual best and worst lists of a year I just feel like doing, and I have chosen to start with 2016. Anyway, let’s begin the list. So 2016, this year’s music doesn’t...

Welcome back to Vulture Reviews. I think it’s safe to say that Sony Pictures Animation has been getting a LOT better as of late. With movies like Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and The Mitchells vs The Machines, it’s to see them redeeming themselves ever since their little incident from 2017. So, for their latest feature, we’re getting a Lin-Minuel Miranda musical with the title musician as a singing kinkajou. This movie looked really nice from the trailers so I was interested to see where this would go. Shall we begin?   Positives-Something about this movie that really appealed to me was the animation and overall presentation of the film. The way this movie is designed feels like a neat balance of cartoony and realistic which really help the scenes with music truly pop. In fact, the animation on the musical numbers is probably the best thing about this movie. Whether they go completely insane with crazy imagery or just have great choreography, they are insanely entert...

Welcome back to Vulture Reviews. It seems for the latest Pixar movie; they have decided to take us to relaxing vacation to Italy! Just like with most films from this studio, I was looking forward to this film quite a lot! The trailers looked like something both simple and unique in an interesting way. With it now out, all that we can really do is see if it lives up to the hype. Shall we begin?   Positives-For starters, the animation is REALLY nice. I know that's to be expected from Pixar, but this really is a nice-looking film. The characters have this style to their designs that has a nice balance of cartoony and realistic. Portorosso isn't all that creative of a setting since it's just a simple town, but that's the point to help with the wholesome feel the movie is going for. It gives off the feeling of something from Studio Ghibli. Though what I'd consider to be the best part of the animation is when a sea monster would turn human and vice versa. You can see ...

Vulture Reviews: Trolls World Tour

Welcome back to Vulture Reviews. Well, it seems time to go back to those obnoxiously sappy trolls. If you read my review of the original Trolls, you'd know that I... don't think very highly of it. In fact, I consider it to be among the worst films from DreamWorks has ever put out. On the topic of the sequel however, I actually thought it had some legitimate potential. I was intrigued with the concept of the kingdoms based on music genres and it seemed it could potentially be a massive improvement over the original. SPOILER ALERT: it was not that. Shall we begin? Positives-Just like the first film, the biggest positive I can give this film is the animation. In fact, it's even better. All of the music kingdoms have a unique style and setting that manages to fit well with their respective genre. My personal favorites are the lava rock kingdom, the western country kingdom, and the underwater techno kingdom. As well has just having an insanely well developed and interesting worl...

Vulture Reviews: Trolls

Welcome back to Vulture Reviews. Well this is a review I was not looking forward to. I have a bit of history with the movie Trolls because even when I was little vulture chick, I absolutely despised this movie, and I pretty much would like anything at that time! It pretty much became a running gag with my family how much I hated the Trolls franchise. So if you couldn't tell, I have a bit of a personal grudge to this. Will my thoughts on this film back then be validated, or was my grudge just another part of younger me being stupid? Shall we begin? Positives-There is only one big positive I can give this film, and that is the animation. It has a similar look to video games like Yoshi's Woolly World or Kirby's Epic Yarn where everything seems to be made of scrapbooking and it gives of the feel like this is a child's imagination world. It's extremely colorful and is filled to the brim with creativity like with the creatures in the forest or the trolls' hair can mov...

Vulture Reviews: Onward

Image
(SPOILER WARNING) Seems like it's time for my very first animated movie review! I'd figure I would start off with something simple, so let's begin with the very first big animated movie of the new decade. Which is none other than Onward! I was really excited for this movie when the trailer was released since Pixar is knon for doing something incredible with reused concepts, such as Monsters Inc and Inside Out. So I was intrigued when they were going to tackle the concept of fantasy creatures in modern society. How does it match up to most other Pixar films? Well... Positives-I love the way this movie is designed. While that is to be expected from Pixar, the way this movie utilizes its color palette like the way it uses blues and purples, really helps the movie have a unique and distinguishable look. There are also a lot of clever little details in the ways medieval fantasy and modern civilization are combined. Something else this movie does partly well is the emotional bond...

MFP (My First Post)

Greetings everyone! I am the Animated Vulture. I've been tired of being just some bird flying around and I wanted to talk about things of human culture that interest me. First, I've been interested in animated movies and judging them critically, so I will talk about animated films and do several lists on them. As well as talking about tv animation, some of my favorites include South Park, Regular Show, and Steven Universe. Then there is pop music, I will talk about my thoughts on the songs of the Billboard Year-End 100 of a certain year. So if you don't like those things, there is zero reason for you to be here! But if otherwise, have fun!
